Red Velvet Cookies

I don’t know why red velvet is such a fad right now. Since I only had 2 eggs and a limited amount of flour in my kitchen, I couldn’t make brownies like I had planned to (sorry Karine!). Grocery stores are closed on Victoria Day (boooo). But yes, after looking around for a recipe that only used about 2 cups of flour and less than 2 eggs, I found this recipe! I always found red velvet really really pretty, but this recipe is kind of dark compared to the other red velvet somethings I’ve seen around the internets.

Super Soft Peanut Butter Cookies

The laundry machines in my building are CRAP and are super expensive, so this past weekend I ventured out to the laundromat to do my laundry. While I was waiting, I went to the Bridgehead and I discovered the most delicious hazelnut latte I have ever experienced. And I really wanted a peanut butter cookie, and I also discovered the softest, chewiest, not too rich peanut butter cookie. I was very satisfied with my coffee shop indulgences that day. Anyway, today is Monday and I want another cookie. So I made a crapton of them. YUM. (Yes friends, I’ll be bringing them to work. I hope nobody dies of anaphylaxis.)

Infused Water

So lately I’ve been trying to budget my money (I’m not very good at it. I like food too much. And lately I’ve developed an affinity for shoes…and purses. Why do I choose to be most girly when I have no money?) Anyway. One of the efforts of spending less money, is drinking fewer bottled drinks (i.e. juice, gingerale, aloe vera juice, arizona iced tea OOH I should try making that…) so I’ve been drinking more water. Now I’ve never been a fan of water. Sure, when it’s a hot day, I’ve been running around a lot, I’d LOOOOVE a glass of delicious, ice-cold water. However, I generally prefer some sort of flavour to my drinks.

Kale Chips

The past mother’s day weekend has been spent at Edible Arrangements, dipping hundreds and hundreds of pieces of fruit in white and dark chocolate. The thing I love about this job is that my boss loves good quality fruit bouquets AND she lets me eat my own mistakes.

Caramels

Lately I’ve been in a candy-making mood, and again, I saw this delicious looking recipe from vanilla and lace, the same blog that had the salt water taffy recipe. I’m not sure why I’m making so much candy though, I’m not really in the mood to eat it. Actually I ate about 10 of the salt water taffies and I still kind of want more. Is that bad?

Salt Water Taffy 2.0

I’ve been seeing salt water taffy EVERYWHERE. It was on Glee, I’ve stumbled upon it several times, and I’ve seen them on display. Since I don’t really recall ever eating salt water taffy myself, I was like, what the heck, why not, I’ll make some of my own.
